About Us
Montellec Limited is incorporated in Ireland. The MONTELLEC Portal and Commander are high-performance, non-invasive wireless Human Interface Computers (HIC) that bridge the gap between the mind and the machine. By delivering brain signals into standard HID outputs—mouse movements, keyboard strokes, and gamepad controls—MONTELLEC allows users to navigate with precision. Designed for gaming and productivity, it is a non-medical device making no diagnostic, therapeutic, or health-related claims, maintaining a clear distinction from medical equipment (such as Eliquent) intended to treat or mitigate physical conditions (U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2026).
The technical sophistication of MONTELLEC is defined by a commitment to olympic-grade electronic and bicycle-grade materials, a “best, simple, and just works” electronics philosophy, and uncompromising data integrity. The device architecture utilises a hybrid of advanced traditional manufacturing, incorporating high-density composite within a biocompatible housing (Gonzalez-Gutierrez et al., 2018). Unlike contemporary wearables, MONTELLEC prioritises user privacy and latency through local data processing via a Cortex-based microcontroller, sampling at high fidelity without cloud-based AI inference—delivering near-zero latency on its own local AI inference and protecting users from the outer world from the outset. Its sensor interface utilises moisture-resistant skin-contact cushions to achieve truly real-time, seamless use without invasive components or conductive gels.
MONTELLEC is built upon rigorous safety and global regulatory compliance. The device meets the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive 2014/30/EU and the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), featuring EMI shielding providing over 80 dB of attenuation for reliable performance in any environment (European Parliament and Council, 2014). Regulatorily, MONTELLEC is categorised as a standard computer peripheral—compliant with ergonomic Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) emulation such as keyboard, controller, or mouse—and is therefore exempt from FDA 510(k) premarket notification and medical-grade GMP requirements where no impairment-fixing claims are supported (Oriel STAT A MATRIX, 2024). By focusing solely on enhancing digital workflows and gaming, a secure, powerful, and purely traditional interface is provided; one whose lineage begins with US military applications of the modern era, and which will not lag even a decade from now—because performance was never predicated on measuring stress.
